FX Rate Live started with a simple frustration: finding a clean, honest, no-nonsense currency reference that actually told you what you needed to know. No pop-ups. No hidden agendas. Just the rate.
How FX Rate Live Came to Be
In 2024, our founder was trying to send money from India to a family member studying abroad. He spent nearly an hour across three different websites trying to figure out the actual fair mid-market rate — the real rate that banks use with each other, before adding their own margin. Every site he visited was cluttered, confusing, or quietly steering him toward a paid service.
That evening, he started building what would become FX Rate Live: a clean, fast, and completely transparent currency reference tool designed for people who simply want to know the real rate. Not the rate the bank wants to show them. The actual rate.
Within months, the site had grown from a personal project into a platform used daily by students sending remittances home, small business owners paying overseas suppliers, NRIs tracking the rupee, expats in Saudi Arabia calculating their salaries in dollars, and travellers planning trips to Japan or Europe.
We have never taken investment from currency exchange companies. We have never accepted payment to promote one money transfer service over another. Our only income is advertising. Our only obligation is to our readers.
What We Stand For
Currency knowledge should not be a privilege reserved for traders and finance professionals. When a nurse working in Riyadh sends money home to her family in Kerala, she deserves to know the fair rate. When a student in Delhi converts dollars for a study abroad programme, he should not lose 5% to confusion before he has even left the country.
