Why is the rate on FX Rate Live different from my bank’s rate?
FX Rate Live shows the mid-market rate — the wholesale rate that banks and financial institutions use when trading currency with each other. This is the fairest benchmark for any currency exchange. When you convert money through a bank, travel card, or money transfer service, they add their own profit margin on top of this rate. The gap between our rate and what you are offered is the cost of their service. A smaller gap means a better deal for you.
Can I send money directly through FX Rate Live?
No. FX Rate Live is a currency reference and education platform, not a money transfer service. We do not process payments, hold funds, or offer exchange services. Our purpose is to show you the fair mid-market rate so you can make an informed comparison before choosing a bank or transfer service. Think of us as a price benchmark rather than a transaction platform.
How often are rates updated on FX Rate Live?
Our live rate pages update every minute during global forex market trading hours, using data from public financial APIs. Our educational guides and reference conversion tables may show approximate rates that are updated less frequently. For any actual financial transaction involving a significant amount of money, always check the live rate on our converter immediately before proceeding — never rely on a figure you saw hours earlier.
Is FX Rate Live a licensed or regulated financial service?
No. FX Rate Live is an educational publishing platform. We are not a licensed financial advisor, currency broker, bank, or registered money transfer operator. We do not hold, transmit, or exchange funds of any kind. Nothing published on FX Rate Live should be treated as personalised financial advice. How does FX Rate Live make money?
FX Rate Live earns revenue through display advertising served by Google AdSense.
