Rate Charts — See Where the Rate Has Been
A rate chart tells you something a single number never can — whether the current rate is historically high, low, or right in the middle. Before you convert money, it pays to look at the chart.
What Is a Currency Rate Chart?
A currency rate chart is a visual record of how an exchange rate has moved over time. The horizontal axis shows time — hours, days, months, or years — and the vertical axis shows the exchange rate. A rising line means the first currency in the pair is getting stronger. A falling line means it is getting weaker.
Charts are useful because they give you context. If USD/INR is currently at 86, that number alone tells you very little. But if the chart shows it has ranged between 82 and 88 over the past year, you immediately know whether 86 is near the top, bottom, or middle of the recent range. That context is enormously valuable when deciding whether to convert now or wait.
Professional traders use complex chart analysis called technical analysis. You do not need any of that. For everyday money decisions — remittances, travel, business payments — simply looking at the chart and asking “is the rate currently high or low compared to recent history?” is enough to give you a meaningful advantage.
If USD/INR is near the top of its recent range, your dollars buy more rupees than usual — a good time to send money to India. If it is near the bottom, you may want to wait for the rate to improve. Charts make this visible at a glance. View all charts at FXRateLive.in →
